Opening Ceremonies this Saturday at Sewallcrest Park

Please join us this Saturday, April 7th for Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Powell Little League Baseball & Softball season.

Please have your player arrive in uniform and be ready to join their team no later than 9am on the blacktop at Edwards Grade School located at 1715 SE 32nd Avenue, adjoining Sewallcrest Park.  Parking can be a challenge, so please make this a consideration.  Please do not park on SE 31st Avenue from Market Street to the south end of Sewallcrest Park.

9:00am - Teams gather and group up by division on the black top in the following order:
SB Jrs., T-Ball, SB Farm, BB Farm, SB Minors, BB Minors, SB Majors, BB Majors

With Portland Police leading the procession, we will take a short parade route heading west on Market Street then south on SE 31st Avenue into Sewallcrest Park. This is a Powell tradition that is great fun for the kids and allows the parents and all other invitees to view the players and take photographs.

We will gather all teams at the field and have an official start of the season throwout for both the baseball and softball divisions.  Time to Play Ball!

Then, weather permitting, please join us at 10:00am for a few 25 minute exhibition games featuring:


Game 1 - SB:   Juniors sponsored by Pine State Biscuits v SB Majors (Linnell)
Game 2 - T- Ball:   Schroeder v Kalivasv
Game 3 - BB Farm:   Barbur Optometrics v Farm
Game 4 - BB Minors:   Slappy Cakes v O'Brien
Game 5 - BB Minors:   Academy Sports v Blitz Restaurant

Opening day ceremonies conclude at 12:45 pm
