Between the rain showers, Powell's majors softball team (The Tenacious 12) managed to get in their first full game against Lents on opening day.
The girls came out ready to hit and put up 3 runs in the first inning. By the end of the 3rd inning, it was a close 7-6 game, but the Powell girls shut Lents out in the last 3 innings, winning the game with a score of 12-6.
Natalie and Kira shared pitching duties, giving up only 8 hits and 2 walks between them. Grace, Camila, Rachael & Kira were invaluable offensively with several hits and stolen bases.
It was a great start to what looks like an exciting season!
