Powerful Powell Post Season

On to state!
We've had tremendous success this post season and are ready for the next tournament as our 9/10 year old baseball team is just starting their District tournament this Thursday at 4pm at the Jaycee Field in Gresham at Main & Powell.

Powell LL is lucky enough to have a great opportunities to partner with other little leagues to combine our players to create powerhouse teams! Thank you to Portland LL (50/70 Baseball), Mt. Hood & Clackamas (Juniors Softball) and Portland LL & Taborvilla LL (Majors Softball). Thank you for helping our players create this adventure and lasting memories!

The ISP (Inner SE Portland) Jackwagons 50/70 team as the District 2 Champs are at their State tournament in Gold Hill, OR and could be on the road to Regionals! They are winning and are awaiting their next steps to see if they head to California for Regionals! Go Roland Hill & "ISP Jackwagons!"

The "Hot Pitches" Juniors Softball team are now the District 2 Champs after their final win Monday night and are heading to Klamath Falls for their State Tournament! We have 5 players playing on this team: Risa Byerly, Lina Clark, Ruby Gonzales, Sophia James & Mary Roach! Way to go ladies and go get 'em!

The ISP (Inner SE Portland) Pride Majors Softball team are the District 2 Champs after TONIGHT'S win!!! Camila Mejia, Natalie Smith, Kira Swinth & Emily Swinth have had quite a ride winning all their games and heading right to the State Tournament in Scappoose, OR. You did great "ISP Pride", now time to shift and go get 'em at State!

So next is supporting these players. We can follow them on the Oregon District 2 website (http://www.eteamz.com/ord2website/) and see how they are doing from afar. We could get the info from the website, attend the games and cheer them on in person. We could contribute to help cover costs of these players who have to travel. Their families and friends will be contributing and probably traveling too, so it would be great if our Powell community could contribute to their experience and adventure and live a little vicariously through them or relive your little league adventures!

It could cost more than $300 per player for room & board as they travel for the duration of one tournament. Powell will contribute, fundraisers are planned (Hot Pitches have a carwash Thursday at Baxters on SE 82nd & Holgate from 3-6pm), sponsors may want to support and we hope you can too.

Please contact Josha Russell, Powell Treasurer at russell.josha@gmail.com if you have a contribution of any amount in check or cash to the "All-Star Traveling Fund." This will be a fund created specifically for Powell All-Star players to travel during the post season from the District Tournament to the State and possibly beyond, this season and seasons to come!

We are so excited for this momentum our league is headed and proud of all the players. We wish them GOOD LUCK and have FUN! We want to see pictures!

Oh, don't forget, we still have 9/10 Baseball team just starting their District tournament this Thursday at 4pm at the Jaycee Field in Gresham at Main & Powell.

Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for our league and our kids!

See you at the Park...for the Tournaments!!
