Powell-Portland Little League Merger

After a successful season of 2013 which included a rise in membership and a successful post season with players on teams winning State and going to Regionals, Powell Little League prepares for 2014 and the future of our league.

The board of directors see many challenges that face our league and surrounding leagues and looked for solutions. The final decision to ensure our league continues to grow in numbers and in player development, we decided to go forward with a merge with Portland Little League.

Closing Ceremonies and Minors Tournament

Good sports all around

It was a perfect day at the park as we wrapped up the Powell Little League Minors tournament today with a closely played 6 inning game between the Green Sox and the Blitzers.  The Green Sox held on for a narrow victory, while earlier in the day The Growlers bested the Pirates for the 3rd place spot.  The Red Wolves and Maroon 12 also played great games this week, and fun was had by all.

And just another reminder to join us at 4:30 today at Sewallcrest Park for closing ceremonies, All Star Team announcements, and our Majors teams playing their final game under the lights.  See you at the park!

Thank you Alpenrose

An Awesome Alpenrose Day!

It was dry, it was sunny, it was windy, it was cloudy, it was a great day at Alpenrose!

Win or Lose, teams had a fun time and kids were thrilled to play on wonderful fields. Honestly, I think the parents were a little jealous they didn't get to play out there.

We are truly fortunate to have the opportunity to play at Alpenrose free of charge and all we have to do is prep our fields, supply our own volunteers and clean up after ourselves...no problem, it takes a village!

Join me for a round of applause and HUGE THANK YOUs...

Umpires Wanted

Duckworth shows us how it's done.
Interested in umpiring?

We are actively recruiting volunteers interested in umpiring minors level baseball games at Brooklyn and Essex fields this spring.  It's a great way to get involved with the league, and is a minimal time commitment (you can just ump the games you want, no larger commitment).

The players and coaches alike really appreciate our volunteer umpires.  If you're interested, please Contact Leigh Gill at leigh.f.gill@gmail.com
