Little League Opening Day this Saturday April 5th

Opening day is this Saturday, April 5th at Woodstock Park (SE 47th & Steele)

8:30am Teams arrive in uniform

• Players meet their team for the parade at the South end of the park on the grassy area near the tennis courts

• Parents refill hot beverage options from the snack shack and find a place to watch along the path under the trees near the snack shack

9:00am Parade begins through the park to the right field of Field #1

• Opening Ceremonies begins

• After the ceremony, League sponsored breakfast treats available at the snack shack along with no host snack shack options

10:15am Woodstock fields prepare for games
10:30am Warm ups can begin for the 11am games

Team Announcements this Tuesday and Opening Day is coming April 5th!

Tuesday, March 11th Team Announcements at Creston School Auditorium (4701 SE Bush St.)

• 6-7pm Teeball & Farm BB & SB
• 7-8 pm Minors, Majors, 50/70 & Juniors BB & SB

Equipment swap (bring your gently used items to trade for another item).  Meet your manager, coaches and teammates, learn about how to become a team parent, & receive your practice schedule.

Between the rain showers, Powell's majors softball team (The Tenacious 12) managed to get in their first full game against Lents on opening day.

This weekend is opening day!  The little league parade and festivities begin at 8:45 am this Saturday, April 6th at Seawall Crest Park.

If you haven't yet heard from your coach regarding a game schedule or team assignment, email us at: powell.littleague@gmail.com and we can help get it sorted. 

Also, if you haven't filled one out yet, be sure to fill out a medical release form and get it to your coach as soon as you can.  See you at the park!

Opening words, introducing teams & coaches then the first pitch of the 2013 season!

Players come in your uniform with hat and looking like you're ready to play ball and meet your coach & team at 8:45am on the blacktop behind Edwards School.

Parents, make your way along the parade route. It will go down SE Market to 31st then down to the ball field. Watch from the grand stands as teams enter the field to get the ceremony started.

Scott with Bro-Dogs will be on hand supplied with morning friendly food & coffee PLUS part of the proceeds go back to Powell!

Ceremonies will finish in time for morning games to begin.

Opening Day is in the books

Opening day festivities were held today at Sewallcrest Park, complete with sun, a parade, exhibition games, and an overwhelming response from the community and a new host of sponsors.  More pics will be forthcoming!

Opening Ceremonies this Saturday at Sewallcrest Park

Please join us this Saturday, April 7th for Opening Ceremonies for the 2012 Powell Little League Baseball & Softball season.

Please have your player arrive in uniform and be ready to join their team no later than 9am on the blacktop at Edwards Grade School located at 1715 SE 32nd Avenue, adjoining Sewallcrest Park.  Parking can be a challenge, so please make this a consideration.  Please do not park on SE 31st Avenue from Market Street to the south end of Sewallcrest Park.

9:00am - Teams gather and group up by division on the black top in the following order:
SB Jrs., T-Ball, SB Farm, BB Farm, SB Minors, BB Minors, SB Majors, BB Majors

With Portland Police leading the procession, we will take a short parade route heading west on Market Street then south on SE 31st Avenue into Sewallcrest Park. This is a Powell tradition that is great fun for the kids and allows the parents and all other invitees to view the players and take photographs.

We will gather all teams at the field and have an official start of the season throwout for both the baseball and softball divisions.  Time to Play Ball!
