Powell-Portland Little League Merger

After a successful season of 2013 which included a rise in membership and a successful post season with players on teams winning State and going to Regionals, Powell Little League prepares for 2014 and the future of our league.

The board of directors see many challenges that face our league and surrounding leagues and looked for solutions. The final decision to ensure our league continues to grow in numbers and in player development, we decided to go forward with a merge with Portland Little League.

Portland & Powell LL are wonderful partners in many ways. During the regular season, we combine our players to create teams to ensure every player has a opportunity to play and our teams are part of an intricate schedule in which they play against each other often. Our philosophies on development are compatible and we both have resources to offer our parent volunteers to give a more rounded experience to our players.

The process doesn't happen automatically, and the boards are working through subcommittees to complete the paperwork process that ultimately goes for approval at Little League International.

Our goal is to have the process completed and approved by the end of December so we can start the 2014 season as the new league.

Watch this site for updates and announcements as we move through this process. If you want more information, please contact us at powell.littleleague@gmail.com.

We appreciate your continued support and look forward to another great season!

See you at the Park!
